Untangle is a small, calm app that helps with overthinking, built by Longbeard. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: Untangle collects no personal data, and nothing you write ever leaves your device.
What we collect
What stays on your device
- Your check-ins (the worries you write and the summaries the app generates) are stored only in local storage on your phone.
- Your settings (reminder window, frequency, and preferences) are stored only on your phone.
This information never leaves the device. You can delete individual check-ins at any time, delete all of them from Settings, and uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.
Notifications
If you enable breathing reminders, the app schedules gentle local notifications on your device. These are generated on-device and are not sent through any server.
Optional tips (in-app purchases)
Untangle is free. You may optionally leave a tip to support development. Tips are processed by Google Play; the payment is handled entirely by Google, and we never see or store your payment details. Google's handling of that transaction is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. A tip unlocks no features — the app is identical whether or not you tip. The only thing stored is a local flag, on your device, noting that you tipped, so the app doesn't prompt you again.
Children
Untangle is not directed at children under 13, and because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.
Not medical advice
Untangle is a self-help tool, not medical care or a crisis service, and it makes no diagnostic or treatment claims. If you are struggling, please reach out to a doctor, a trusted person, or a local support line.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it.
