Privacy policy

Longbeard Tech operates NRL Hunter SA, including the Android app tech.longbeard.nrl and its connected match services. This notice explains what we process, why we need it and the choices you have. Contact longbeardtech@gmail.com for privacy questions or requests.
Information we process
- Account and profile: your email address, account identifier, name, date of birth, division, classification and membership details where supplied. Authentication is handled through our sign-in service, including Amazon Cognito. Optional multi-factor authentication helps protect your account.
- Competition records: match registrations, squads, scores, stage results, competition status, and entry or payment-status records provided by an organiser.
- Equipment and personal records: rifle and ammunition details, inventory, setup notes, private reflections, ratings and reviews that you choose to save.
- App operation and security: session tokens, installation identifiers where needed for authorised scoring, synchronisation records, network requests, IP addresses and service logs needed to operate and protect the service.
- Support: information you send when contacting us.
The app does not request access to your contacts, microphone, camera or precise device location. Match venue locations are event information. It contains no advertising SDK or advertising identifier tracking.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, manage entries and eligibility categories, show match details and results, save equipment and personal records, synchronise authorised scoring, resolve support requests and maintain reliable competition and security records. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
What other people can see
Published sporting results may show your competition name, division, classification, scores, rank and stage performance. Public reviews may also be visible when published. Private reflections, date of birth and account email are not part of the public leaderboard.
Authorised event staff and administrators can access the information needed to manage their events, participants and scoring. Avoid putting confidential information into a public review. A downloaded or shared results file may remain with its recipients.
Service providers and transfers
We use hosting, infrastructure and authentication providers, including Amazon Web Services for Cognito authentication, to operate the service. Google Play handles Android app distribution and may process information under its own privacy notice. Providers process information for the services they deliver. Information may be processed outside South Africa where a provider or support operation is located; we use appropriate safeguards for such processing. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the service and its users.
Storage and security
Connections to the service use HTTPS. Sign-in credentials and session material use the device’s secure storage where supported. The app may cache profile, match and result data locally; authorised scoring users may also keep match packages and pending scores on their device. Protect your device and sign out before sharing it. No service can guarantee complete security.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and operational information while needed to provide the service and maintain legitimate competition, security and legal records. You can delete your account through the app or request deletion using the instructions below. Deletion removes your sign-in, personal profile and associated account data, including equipment, registrations and memberships. Historical sporting results and audit records may be retained to preserve competition integrity; historical entries are unlinked from the deleted account. Unlinking does not necessarily remove the competition name from existing results or exports.
Backup copies may remain until replaced through normal backup rotation and are not used as active account records. Legal obligations or disputes may require specific records to be retained for longer. Contact us for a request about a particular historical record or retained information.
Your choices and rights
You can view published live results without creating an account, edit your account details in the app, and choose which optional equipment notes or reviews to save. To request access, correction, deletion, or information about our processing, email longbeardtech@gmail.com. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder. Do not send your password.
Account and data deletion instructions
Younger competitors
The app is intended for the precision-rifle sporting community and is not designed for children under 13 to use independently. A parent or guardian should contact us about a younger competitor’s information or participation.
This website
The NRL Hunter SA product and privacy pages do not add advertising or analytics trackers. Our hosting infrastructure processes normal request information to deliver and secure these pages. Following links to other services is subject to those services’ privacy practices.
Changes and contact
